For You Only

For You Only became a single indirectly. Alison was unhappy that the record company might release a fourth single from the hugely successful Alf album – she felt it was rinsing the fans. Instead she recorded her cover of Billie Holiday’s That Ole Devil Called Love – a song that was going down a storm during her Love Resurrection tour. Feeling it was quite left-field to record a classic jazz track as a single, Alison then found other acts recording ‘jazz’ and charting. 

For You Only was released in Europe with Twisting The Knife as B-side and in the States with Money Mile as B-side.

It was Alison’s biggest hit in Germany reaching #7 in the singles chart.
