Alison Moyet and Nile Rodgers became firm friends (or ‘bus buddies’ as Nile described them) when they both were performing on the Aida Night of the Proms tour in 2011.
On 13 July 2012, Nile Rodgers with Chic and Mark Ronson teamed up to present “Freak Out Montreux”, an “all-night party” as part of the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
They invited Alison Moyet and Johnny Marr to collaborate with them onstage for a performance of The Smiths’ Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before / Ronson’s Stop Me.
On Tuesday, 6th September 2016, Alison presented Nile with the GQ Icon Award at The Tate Modern in London.
On 24th June 2016, Alison made a special appearance at the Fold Festival joining Nile and Chic onstage from an impromptu performance of Situation.
