Alison Moyet and Jools Holland‘s paths have fortuitously crossed many times over the years.
Yazoo played live on Channel 4’s The Tube – a TV show hosted by Jools Holland.
Alison, having gone solo after Vince split up Yazoo, made an early TV appearance on 29th June 1984 on The Midsummer Night’s Tube – as always hosted by Jools.
A further appearance on The Tube happened on 28th November 1986 singing Is This Love first.
Later in the show, Jools introduces Alison singing My Old Man’s A Dustman, sorry Try A Little Tenderness.

In 2002, Jools invited Alison to perform songs from her Hometime album on Later… with Jools Holland.
In 2010, Jools invited Alison to come on the road with him and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for 56 shows across the UK and Ireland. Jools said: “Her voice is truly unique and has a blues and soul quality that fits perfectly into the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra party.” Alison performed a four-song set: Love Letters, The Man That Got Away, Only You and finishing off with John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom.
The Times’ review hailed Alison’s performance: “His trump card was a guest spot by Alison Moyet, these days a blues siren whose mojo is working in all departments. Beginning with a slow, smoochy Love Letters and a melancholy sweep through The Man That Got Away, she romped through John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom with an imperious touch that marked the high point of the show”.
Jools then invited Alison to perform The Man That Got Away on his 2010 album, Rocking Horse.
To cap a busy 2010, Alison was invited to appear on Jools’ Annual Hootenanny on BBC One. She performed Boom Boom and Love Letters.
